Successful football camp with fun, games and fair play

Zettisch, 29.08.2024 – Beaming faces, enthusiastic children and exciting games – this year’s football camp, organised by SSV Jahn Regensburg and the ULRICHSHOF, was once again a complete success. For three days, everything revolved around the round leather. The young participants, aged between 4 and 14, experienced intensive, age-appropriate training led by youth coaches from SSV Jahn Regensburg.

‘My favourite thing was that we were able to play football for three days,’ says Maximilian, 8, summing up the enthusiasm of many of the children. For Emil (9), the camp was an all-round success because he liked ‘everything!’. The children particularly enjoyed the technical training, which included dribbling, passing and shooting. 9-year-old Djiego was particularly proud of his performance in the shooting speed measurement: ‘I managed 68 km/h there. My record is 78 km/h.’

Varied and age-appropriate training

‘Everything is planned in advance with the help of age lists. The training is adapted accordingly,’ explains Alba, who supported this year’s football camp as an intern at SSV Jahn Regensburg. Her enthusiasm for the sport and working with children is clearly noticeable: ‘I got so much confidence from the group.’

Even the younger participants like Levi (4) got their money’s worth. His favourite exercise was the ‘dribbling exercise’, while 10-year-old Lena excelled at speed running and proudly announced: ‘I was even 21 km/h fast!’ For Charles (11), the camp was an opportunity to improve his dribbling skills. After training, he treated himself to a special cool-down: ‘I’m very tired afterwards. But then I always go into the ULRICHSHOF pool,’ says Charles, beaming.

You should not only learn the sporting aspect, but also learn to win and lose!

The highlight of the camp was undoubtedly the final tournament, which was also attended by the mascots Jahni and the ULRICHSHOF mascot Yolybsi. Trainee Edis from SSV Jahn Regensburg added: ‘For me as a child, it was always extremely important to play. The final tournament gives the children the opportunity to apply what they have learnt and show what they can do.’

ULRICHSHOF junior manager Nikolaus Brandl is extremely satisfied: ‘We’ve had perfect weather for the last three days and it’s been great fun. We would like to thank SV Thenried for giving us the opportunity to use their pitch again and, of course, SSV Jahn Regensburg for the successful organisation. We are looking forward to next year when we organise another joint football camp at the end of August.’
